Spectacularly printed coffee table book filled with tons of photography.

It’s been a long time coming, but the hardcover version of The Mixtape Manifesto: A Pop Culture Confessional has arrived and they look great! Pick up your copy from Amazon.

The book reads as a compilation of articles or short essays—almost like flipping through a magazine—with an overarching, well, let’s call it “progression of maturity”. Things centralize around me dealing with and processing relationships; relating love and loss to music, movies, and tv shows. Just thoughts on life with lots of shout outs to 80s, 90s, and 00s pop culture—my heart on my sleeve relating common feelings to common themes. Those of you who enjoy Chuck Klosterman would probably enjoy this read.

I’m proud of this book, but in an odd way. Flipping through the hardcover, I almost feel like a stranger discovering these thoughts and feelings for the first time. It all seems so long ago. While externally things may not look too different, internally I don’t even recognize the person in this book—the memories are a lot fuzzier and I can’t remember the last time I pined over a girl, haha. That’s why I like this book—it’s a tangible time capsule of a crazy moment in my life. I’m glad I lived it, I’m glad I created it, and I’m glad I’m sharing it with you.

I don’t know how often we’ll be stocking the hardcover—they’re expensive to print, which means they’re expensive to buy—Mixtape was originally only intended to be an iBooks release for the iPad. But here we are, and they’re pretty cool to hold in your hand! Head over to Amazon and grab one while they’re available.
