From the Saline Hot Springs to Charlie Manson's hideout (with what looks like some sort of blood dripping ritual), Death Valley is a bizarre place. I did about 450 miles of dirt roads and 4x4 tracks, eventually cutting the trip short because the fuel pump in the Jeep died. It was a true adventure, given I was about 40 miles to pavement and another 75 to cell phone service.
