The Mortal Testament: Celestial of Fate

The Mortal Testament: Celestial of Fate album with vinyl protruding from the side. Colorful, vibrant, cosmic.

The Mortal Testament: Celestial In Motion

Or: How I accidentally summoned the perfect soundtrack to my own book while messing around with AI at 2 a.m.

One random night I was deep in the AI rabbit hole, doing what any self-respecting author does when they should be writing: tinkering with music generators.

I was playing with ElevenLabs (back when their music feature had just dropped and still felt like black magic) and using Grok to help me craft the perfect prompt. I started with a very specific vision — a fusion of Run The Jewels’ aggressive, punchy energy and something ethereal, cosmic, and slightly haunting. I gave Grok every detail: 150 BPM in C# major, heavy driving drums, dystopian synth pads, industrial hi-hats, angelic female vocals repeating the phrase “I am the Celestial of Fate,” and a whole lot of trancey, hypnotic build-ups.

Grok spit back a prompt so beautifully unhinged that I just copied and pasted it straight into ElevenLabs.

What came out actually made me sit up straight.

These tracks were some of the very first generations from ElevenLabs’ music tool — raw, weird, and strangely alive. I’ve since done a little mixing and mastering to smooth out the rough edges, but the soul of those original late-night experiments is still right there. I still listen to them all the time. They just… hit different.

So instead of letting them sit on my hard drive like digital ghosts, I decided to give them a home inside The Mortal Testament. One of the main characters, Josh, has a music background, so these became his “lost demos.” It felt right. No grand plan. Just vibes.

Eventually I want to turn these into proper AI-generated music videos to feature on the site — full visual trips to match the sound. Until then, I’m just happy to finally share them.

I hope they hit you the same way they hit me: equal parts futuristic, ancient, and strangely seductive.

The Original Prompt (for the nerds in the back):

Generate a hyper-modern electronica hip-hop track blending aggressive, punchy beats with ethereal trance elements, at 150 BPM in C# major, lasting about 3:30. Feature heavy, driving drums with punchy kicks, sharp snares, and industrial hi-hats for high-energy propulsion, layered over dystopian synth pads, electronic warps, subtle sample glitches, and added ambient swells for a sense of inevitable fate. The only lyrics are the repeated phrase 'I am the Celestial of Fate,' sung by angelic, ethereal female vocals in siren-like harmonies, echoing and building with ad-libs for hypnotic immersion and subtle sexual desire, nodding to Ananke's mythic compulsion. Start with a minimal intro of vocal layers and rising synth swells, then drop into verses of instrumental intensity with funky basslines, rock-infused riffs, and evolving harmonic echoes. Pre-chorus escalates the mantra with trance-like repetition and swelling pads; chorus explodes with the full vocal hook amid maximal layers for frantic energy. Include a bridge of spoken-word cosmic whispers on destiny and empowerment, fading out with echoing vocals and ambient synths. Keep it empowering, afrofuturist, and clean-mixed for vibe-heavy, mind-expanding listening.

Hit play. Let the Celestial do her thing.
